¤ About Diglipur
The
Andaman and Nicobar Islands were masked in mystery for centuries because of
their detachment. These small gorgeous islands are the paragon of beauty and
present a backdrop full with scenic and striking extravaganza. These islands
sparkle like emeralds in the Bay of Bengal. The impenetrable forests which
cover these islands and the countless exotic flowers and birds create a
highly poetic and romantic atmosphere while your stay at Andaman &
Nicobar. The swaying palm tress along meandering coastline sways to the cool
breeze and transforms you to a pleasing heaven.
The beat of tribal
drums haunts the stillness and the multi colored fish steer their way
through crystal clear water. Nestled in North Andaman Island, Diglipur
provides a rare experience for nature lover tourists. You can view the
Saddle Peak, which commands 732 meters; and is regarded the highest point in
the island. Kalpong, the only river of Andaman flows from here. The first
hydroelectric project of the islands is initiated upon this river. One who
comes by road from Port Blair has to take a boat from Mayabunder to Kalighat
and from there journey by road to Diglipur which is about 25 kms away.
